The Dialogue Group is calling on the US government to finance the largest part of the fund.
(DA NANG, Vietnam) -
On August 10th 1961, the US Air force began spraying chemicals over Vietnam. Several events will take place this year to mark the fiftieth anniversary of that dreadful act.
The Vietnam War (1961-1975) is known for the massive bombing of North Vietnam. Less obvious and unknown for too long by the public at large has been the chemical warfare waged in the Southern part of that country from 1961 to 1971, whose consequences have been dramatic and long-lasting.
The Hidden Horror in Agent Orange.
(LONDON Base Peak) -
One of the unfortunate legacies of the futile Vietnam War in the 1960-70s is linked directly to the decision to undertake large-scale defoliation in order to remove ground cover for the opposing troops and destroy crops.
The principal herbicide used was Agent Orange which was contaminated with toxic impurities that continue to exert their influence even today.
Last week Stephen Colbert challenged the Colbert Nation to Take a Stand.
(NEW YORK) -
Comedy Central's own Stephen Colbert was approved by the Federal Election Commission (FEC) on June 30 for Colbert SuperPAC, now called "Americans for a Better Tomorrow, Tomorrow."
The political action committee will allow him to raise unlimited amounts of money from corporations, unions and individuals to support or oppose candidates in the 2012 elections, legally of course, joining about 100 other superPACs in the United States.
"All I can say is it’s over 110".
(SOMERDALE, N.J.) -
I’ve known this Marine since he was in grade school.
He’s married now, father of a young boy, deployed with the Marines in Afghanistan, his unit or the place of deployment in-country are not disclosed for obvious reasons.
Next time, it could be our family member, or even us, that faces wrongful guardianship and death panels...
(RAPID CITY, S.D. Dakota Voice) -
How long has it been since Gary Harvey fell down those basement stairs? How long has it been since he found himself vulnerable and fighting not only for life just because of his injuries, but fighting for life because the government officials and so-called ethic’s committees decided it was time to end his life by starving and dehydrating him to death?
Just how long has it been and what has changed since the fight began all those years ago?
To have our returning veterans suffer a 45% higher unemployment rate than the average U.S. citizen, is shameful.
(HARRISVILLE, N.H.) -
According to an article titled “Veterans face high unemployment after military service”, written by Alana Semuels, and published by the L.A. Times on July 11, 2011, the unemployment rate for veterans who have served since September of 2001 currently sits at 13.3%.
The average unemployment rate for all U.S. citizens is currently 9.2%. Ms. Semuels suggests that the disparity between the unemployment rate for veterans and non-veterans will widen...
The Agent Orange Equity Bill of 2009 was never enacted, as politicians stonewalled the issue. Let us fight for and pray HR 812, The Agent Orange Act of 2011, makes it through this time.
(WASHINGTON D.C.) -
The letters keep coming and I am just one small platform taking on the issue of Agent Orange. I would hate to even venture a guess as to how many people have been affected world-wide with the AO problem.
My last article covered how toxins in general disrupt the immune system allowing cancers and other diseases to proliferate. Let’s go a bit further…
