Traveling Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall Comes to Portland

Community Invited to Pay Respects to America’s War Veterans

(PORTLAND, OR) - Traveling Vietnam Wall The Dignity Memorial® Vietnam Wall, a three-quarter-scale traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., will be open for public viewing November 9 – 12 at Skyline Memorial Gardens.

Free and open to the public 24 hours a day from Friday, November 9 through Monday, November 12 the replica is eight feet high and 240 feet long. Its black, reflective surface is inscribed with the names of more than 58,000 servicemen and women who died or are missing in Vietnam.

The latest statistics from the VA’s Louisville office on Camp Lejeune’s disability compensation claims show an 84% denial rate for medical conditions claimed by veterans for Camp Lejeune’s contaminated water wells.

(LOUISVILLE, KY) - Camp Lejeune Outside of the military, no corporation could avoid the huge liability for deaths and injuries from poisoned water wells. Camp Lejeune Marines who were injured by the base’s contaminated water wells are getting the shaft.

There are Bills in legislation that can make our lives less frustrating. Those Bills are House Bill HR-3612 and Senate Bill S.1629. Please urge your members of Congress and Senate to pass them.

Applications Available for Largest Veterans Day Parade West of the Mississippi

Applications are available through the end of next month.

(ALBANY, OR) - Lightening, is the name given to a carousel horse lovingly hand crafted by volunteers, many of whom are veterans. Lightening, a fitting name for a carousel horse lovingly hand crafted by volunteers, many of whom are veterans, will be striding through the Albany Veterans Day parade, Saturday, November 10th.

The Albany Historic Carousel and Museum entry will be joined by upwards of 225 other entries making this once again, the largest Veterans Day Parade west of the Mississippi.

We are in worse trouble than anyone has imagined.

(SALEM) - Military vehicle in Iraq that struck an IED The Oregonian carried an article about Army Combat Veteran, Theadore Jones, “Correcting for Veterans” on Tuesday, pointing out the disgraceful treatment of out battered and bruised medically disabled veterans.

He was hit with bombs and grenade 7 times in Iraq in 2004. He is 100% disabled with PTSD and other injuries.

Those who do understand our health problems do try to help. They are the minority. I speak for Navy Blue Water Sailors, as well as some Air Force and Fleet Marines.
