In recent weeks Gerald Kankya, who is part of a group known as the Twerwaneho Listeners Radio Club (TLC), was interrogated over criminal allegations pertaining to “incitement to violence” and “sectarianism”.

The program highlights all aspects of Nile but focuses on the two main rival countries, Egypt and Ethiopia.

A couple of days ago I was able to watch the Aljazeera documentary titled “Struggle over the Nile.”
My first attraction to the documentary stemmed from the fact that I am a denizen of Ethiopia from where flows, according to the documentary itself, 85 percent of the water that sustains the land of the Pharaoh’s.

The war in the D.R. Congo is not improving and is actually getting worse by the day. The M23 rebel group backed by the Rwandan Military has been terrorizing the Eastern Region of the Congo for many months.
Hundreds of thousands have been displaced, raped or killed. The International Community began sanctioning Rwanda by withdrawing or freezing foreign aid payments over a UN report which provides substantial and credible evidence that Rwanda is arming and financially backing this rebel group, which Rwanda denies.

The Congolese Government’s reaction against the continued support of Rwanda to their enemies in the Congo has led President Kagame back to Uganda to plead for help from His Excellence Yoweri Museveni of Uganda.
He was in Uganda yet again in order to seek help because he has nowhere else to turn to this time.

One month after launching a campaign to help Ugandan children affected by Nodding Syndrome in areas brutalized by Joseph Kony, Medical Teams International is seeing measurable progress among hundreds of children and their families.
Nodding Syndrome is a mysterious disease affecting more than 4,000. Specialists are working hard to determine the cause of the syndrome, which involves convulsions, malnutrition and disorientation.

There is no doubt that the video 'Kony 2012' by the advocacy group Invisible Children has raised much awareness of the under-reported atrocities committed by the Ugandan rebel group the LRA.
It is also true that the video, which boasts of over 80 million views on YouTube so far, has been subjected to much - I think fair – scrutiny.
