Nelson Mandela`s Death Stings

We need more leaders like Mandela in this world...

(SACRAMENTO) - Nelson Mandela I should not be shocked over my own personal reaction to this news I suppose, but it hurts and it makes me very sad. It isn't the loss specifically; this great man more than did his part while living on this earth. It is quite honestly, the lack of men like him that makes me shudder.

There are no rivals for this courageous leader who took up arms and led a revolution against an apartheid government that treated Black Africans with no dignity, instead relegating them to a second class lifestyle below the whites.

(TEL AVIV Times of Israel) - South African International Relations Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane “The struggle of the people of Palestine is our struggle” and South Africa has decided to “slow down” and “curtail senior leadership contact” with the Israeli “regime,” South Africa’s International Relations Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane said on Friday. Already, she said, South Africa’s government ministers do not visit Israel.

“Our Palestinian friends have never asked us to disengage with Israel [through cutting diplomatic relations]. They had asked us in formal meetings to not engage with the regime,” Nkoana-Mashabane was quoted by South African website News24 as telling a Congress of South African Trade Unions international relations committee meeting on Friday.

African Opposites: Morsi and Mandela

We can only speculate the possible outcome if Morsi was moreso like Mandela and took a page out of his populist book.

(SALEM) - Mandela and Morsi The people's voice prevailed at both ends of the African continent. Those polar opposites, as history will render in its final report, came from South Africa and Egypt. Both had its champions of causes, one for Human Rights; the other for domination by his faith.

We are of course speaking of the vast contrast between Nelson Mandela, a onetime Nobel Peace Prize winner, and Mohammed Morsi, just ousted as the President of Egypt.
