(KETTLEMAN CITY, Calif.) - The California EPA released its draft exposure assessment outline for Kettleman City. A string of birth defects have local and state officials alarmed.

(SACRAMENTO, Calif.) - Ahead of the 20th anniversary on Saturday of Sacramento voters going to the polls to shut down Rancho Seco, a nuclear reactor operated by the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) about 25 miles southeast of the city, organizers held a news conference today to mark the event.

In his remarks at the news conference, Scott Denman, former executive director of the national Safe Energy Communication Council, emphasized that votes against nuclear power continue to this day.

Coast Guard Airlifts Crewman 150 Miles Offshore (VIDEO)

The Coast Guard conducted a medevac of a crewmember off the 623-foot container ship Dapenghai 150 miles west from the entrance of the Columbia River Saturday.

(SEATTLE) - In this video released by the Coast Guard, an HH-60 helicopter crew from Air Station Astoria, Ore., conducts a medevac of a crewmember off the 623-foot container ship Dapenghai 150 miles west from the entrance of the Columbia River. The rescue was completed Saturday, Jan. 17th 2009.

Officials say the rescue helicopter crew transported the crewmember to an awaiting Life Flight helicopter crew at Astoria Regional Airport.

Around 8:30 AM Saturday, the Coast Guard Air Station Astoria, Ore., launched an HH-60 rescue helicopter crew to the scene, after receiving a report of a 36-year-old male crewmember suffering a possible stroke.

Police Seek Homicide Suspect Out of Sacramento, California

Police in California say an armed and dangerous man is sought for a double shooting in Sacramento early this morning.

(SACRAMENTO, Calif.) - The suspect who shot two people in California could be in Oregon, though police say there is no specific information suggesting that. They still want people to keep their eyes open for the subject and his vehilcle.

Sacramento, California Police say they are on the lookout for 51-year old Ronald Mitchell, wanted out of California's capitol city over a double shooting that happened at 12:50 AM this morning at 3615 43rd Street.

Mitchell is described as a black male, foot nine inches in height, who weighs approximately 210 pounds. Police say he has a violent history and is armed with a handgun.
