Marion County Sheriff`s Office Joins Forces with Project Lifesaver

Eligible individuals who are enrolled in PLI wear a small personal transmitter around the wrist or ankle that emits an individualized tracking signal.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - The Marion County Sheriff's Office is pleased to announce that it's joining forces with Project Lifesaver International, a non-profit agency that bridges the technological gap for medically "at risk" populations and public safety agencies.

PLI provides deputies, fire/rescue and other first responders with equipment and training to quickly locate and rescue individuals with cognitive disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease, Autism, and Down syndrome, who are at constant risk to wander.
