Xmas Greetings to the UK Government...

... and a reminder of the misery its inaction perpetuates across the Holy Land "So this is Christmas And what have you done?"

(LONDON) - Westminister at Xmas Hello, the hollydecked halls of Westminster. Be of good cheer, all you chaps in your little festive bubble. I thought you might enjoy this Xmas message from Lennon/Ono... my era but oh so relevant today.

At this important time who can forget how the British government, after its eager support for the Iraq war and its antics in Afghanistan and Libya, was itching to unleash more death and destruction a few weeks ago, this time on the Syrians while simultaneously imposing relentless hardships on the citizens of Iran?

Santa is Not Coming to Palestine

What is it that makes our leaders tread the same path over and over and over again, knowing that it can only lead to disaster?

(LONDON) - Santa in Palestine It’s the Sunday before Christmas. London is wearing its party frock; the lights are glittering, the bells are chiming; the throng of shoppers are streaming up and down the streets. Happy and joyous are they all. And here I am, a Palestinian exile, a grandfather, a father and a husband, trying to bring some of this happy mood into a corner of London that I call my little Palestine.

Amongst all this, my heart and thoughts are with my people back home, going through the most arduous winter on record. Snow has covered the entire Middle East in the last week or so. Palestinians inside Palestine, in the refugee camps dotted around the Arab world are all at the mercy of the elements.

The Enduring Power of Zionism`s Propaganda Lies

A still smallish but growing number of North American and European Jews are beginning to speak out and distance themselves from the Zionist monster.

(LONDON) - Zionism is racism Evidence that the mainstream media is not prepared to balance Zionism’s propaganda lies with the truth of history as it relates to the making and sustaining of the conflict in and over Palestine that became Israel was on display in the BBC’s obituary tribute to David Coleman who died at the age of 87 on 21 December.

The face and voice of BBC Television’s sports coverage for the best part of half a century, he was in Munich for the 1972 Olympics where, according to the commentary of the BBC’s tribute to him, “Arab gunmen held hostages and then killed the Israeli athletes.”

Will Israel Lift the Blockade and Save Gaza from Drowning?

Two deaths have been reported by the Ministry of Health in Gaza, and hundreds suffered weather-related injuries

(SALEM) - Gaza flooded During the last six days, nearly 7,000 Palestinians have been displaced in the Gaza strip, forced to evacuate their homes due to heavy rains from the winter storm, called Alexa, which caused floods and torrents of raging water through the streets.

Right to Resist Oppression

"It is time for progressives in the U.S. to openly and clearly support resistance to the monster that the US has become, and the entities it supports, like Israel, and increasingly this means rejecting the false language of the pacifist." - Richard Hugus, critic of progressive injustice

(MANAMA, Bahrain) - Palestine map In August 2004, Richard Hugus, critic of progressive injustice, wrote an article on the “Lies of the Israeli Peace Movement”. What Hugus wrote almost ten years ago has as much forgotten or neglected relevance today.

In an announcement for a meeting, the public was invited to hear from “bereaved Israeli and Palestinian families supporting peace, reconciliation and tolerance.” Referring to a meeting between Jews and Palestinians, Hugus points to Progressives like Noam Chomsky.

(WASHINGTON, DC) - APN logo Americans for Peace Now (APN) today issued the following statement:

“As Congress goes into its winter recess, we commend those members of Congress who stood firm and rejected efforts, both in the House and Senate, to pursue legislative initiatives that would undermine the interim agreement with Iran and threaten the chances of reaching a permanent agreement with Iran – an agreement that offers the best chance to resolve U.S. and international concerns about Iran’s nuclear program and nuclear ambitions..."

Snow and Subservience

It is highly disturbing to see this trend of destruction, collusion, lack of direction, and continued people suffering.

(BETHLEHEM) - Snow in Palestine It is snowing here in Palestine. My visitors from Gaza (a child being treated and his father) wish to go back to their family even though their wife tells us that they have no water and no electricity and that parts of the refugee camp that they live in is flooded (in Rafah).

But we are all concerned for the even more precarious position of refugees from Syria (both Palestinian and Syrians who escaped the fighting and now live in tents in a snow blizzard).
