Award Winning Original Roots Bluegrass Band to Appear at Mt. Angel Performing Arts Center

(MT. ANGEL, Ore.) - Doran Productions and the Mt. Angel Performing Arts Center will host an evening of family friendly, outstandingly entertaining original roots bluegrass with the award-winning group Kathy Boyd & Phoenix Rising.

Celebrating their 5th year together, 2010 has been a banner season for the band, with the release of their 3rd CD - a gospel recording called "Walk Humbly", 47 performances, a partnership with Brian Farrish Radio Promotions, and the recent win of the $10,000 prize in the 2010 International City Love Music Contest with a song about band leader Kathy Boyd's home town of Clatskanie, Oregon

Ex-ELO Band Member Killed in Freak Accident

A former cellist for the British rock band Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) was killed Friday.

(LONDON) - 62-year old Mike Edwards was driving a van when a giant, runaway 1,300 pound bale of hay rolled down a steep hill, hit a hedge and flew 15 feet into the air then smashed fatally into the cab of his vehicle.
