According to what we initially were told, it happened during a commercial break at the Grammy Awards, and was not shown to regular viewers.

(CLEVELAND) - The world is shocked over the news of Pop Diva Whitney Houston's unexpected death at the age of 48, like so many before this we never saw it coming, never imagined that this beautiful, extremely talented singer and actress would leave so soon.

At this point nobody knows how or why she died, the publicists have only released the news that she has died.

(LOS ANGELES) - Whitney Houston, who ruled as pop music’s queen until her majestic voice and regal image were ravaged by drug use, erratic behavior and a tumultuous marriage to singer Bobby Brown, has died. She was 48.

Houston’s publicist, Kristen Foster, said Saturday that the singer had died, but the cause and the location of her death were unknown.
