(WASHINGTON D.C.) - Last Friday Senators Gillibrand and Graham introduced S. 1629--A bill to amend title 38, United States Code, to clarify presumptions relating to the exposure of certain veterans who served in the vicinity of the Republic of Vietnam, and for other purposes; to the Committee on Veterans' Affairs.

This bill, if enacted, will be huge for Vietnam Blue Water Navy Veterans since it restores the benefits taken away by the Veterans Administration.

(WASHINGTON D.C.) - Veterans who served aboard U.S. Navy and Coast Guard ships operating on the waters of Vietnam between January 9, 1962, and May 7, 1975, may be eligible to receive Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) disability compensation for 14 medical conditions associated with presumptive exposure to Agent Orange.

An updated list of U.S. Navy and Coast Guard ships confirmed to have operated on Vietnam's inland waterways, docked on shore, or had crewmembers sent ashore, has been posted online.

(WASHINGTON D.C.) - A New York senator will soon introduce a short and simple bill into Congress that could have a large and far-reaching effect on tens of thousands of Vietnam War veterans and their families.

According to Louisiana attorney John Wells, the proposed law would extend the presumption of exposure to Agent Orange to certain servicemembers who served aboard vessels at sea - the so-called Blue Water Navy - during the Vietnam War.

(DA NANG, Vietnam) - Vietnam-era veterans who have medical diagnoses for three presumptive conditions related to Agent Orange exposure need to file their disability claims with the Department of Veterans Affairs by Aug. 30 in order to qualify for up to one year of retroactive benefits.
