Oregon Family Members Missing 17 Days Found

Six disappeared March 4th in 35-foot motor home in snowy mountains

(MEDFORD- AP) - Stiver family Six family members missing in a recreational vehicle since March 4th were found alive Tuesday in a remote, snowy section of Southern Oregon, authorities said.

U.S. Bureau of Land Management workers first found two of the family members, who had decided to walk out of the woods and left the vehicle, sheriff's deputies said.

Later, search and rescue workers in a helicopter made contact with the other four, said Sgt. David Marshall, spokesman for the Douglas County sheriff's department.

Guard Helicopter Crew From Salem Rescue Missing Man

(SALEM) - Guard pilot running toward his Blackhawk on a rescue mission earlier in 2006 An Oregon Army National Guard helicopter crew found a man missing in the Banks area since Thursday and transported him to a hospital Friday morning for medical care.

The Guard launched a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter to aid the Washington County Sheriff's office in the search for the man who was believed to have suffered a stroke.

FBI Drops Courtney as Suspect in Two Oregon Murder Cases

(Portland- AP) - The F-B-I says it has eliminated the man charged in the murder of Brooke Wilberger -- as a suspect in two of three other cases it was investigating.

Joel Courtney is charged in the kidnapping and murder of the 19-year-old.

Courtney is being held in Albuquerque on unrelated charges involving the rape of a student there. He was indicted in the Wilberger case last July.

Body Believed to be Missing Driver in Yaquina River Recovered

(Newport) - Ricardo Rodriguez apparently drove into the Yaquina River where these skidmarks are located Photos: OSP Oregon State Police troopers recovered a body Tuesday afternoon tentatively identified as a Newport man missing since January 11th after the vehicle he was driving was witnessed going into the Yaquina River off Highway 20 east of Newport.

Man Missing After Vehicle Goes Into Yaquina River East of Newport

(Newport) - Tire tracks going into the Yaquina River showwhere the vehicle left Hwy 20.Photo Courtesy: OSP One person is believed to be missing Wednesday after a vehicle was seen driving off Highway 20 about 18 miles east of Newport into the Yaquina River. Witnesses saw a man in the vehicle as it drifted out of sight westbound in the high, fast current. A search of the area by state and county police, local emergency responders, and the U.S. Coast Guard was unsuccessful and has been called off.

(Salem) - OH-58 Helicopter like those used by Oregon`s Air Guard The Oregon Army National Guard launched an OH-58 Kiowa helicopter shortly after 9:00 AM Chirstmas morning from the Army Aviation Support Facility in Salem to assist in the search for a woman missing since approximately 4:00 AM December 24th.
