My Medical Marijuana History

I see it as the Queen of all herbs, with euphoria-inducing and life-preserving qualities... and need “euphoria” be a bad thing?

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Salem-News.com When Medical Marijuana passed in Oregon in November of 1998, I became a patient as soon as I was able to find a doctor who would sign my application.

My motivation for becoming a patient was to become legal to use a medicine, namely Cannabis, or marijuana, which, I had found, through experimentation, to help me with my physical, mental, and neurological health, as well as to provide a profound sense of peace of mind.

Detroit Stabbing Ends in Bloody Scene in Local Bar

A bloody night in the normally quiet town of Detroit, Oregon led to a stabbing, arrest, and recovery of a loaded gun in the vehicle of the stabbing victim.

(DETROIT, Ore.) - Stabbing scene at Cedar's Restaurant and Lounge in Detroit, Oregon A reported fight between friends in Detroit, Oregon led to a man entering Cedar's Restaurant and Lounge Friday night shortly after 9:00 p.m., with a serious stab wound to the arm. Dennis Osbourn had just sat down for dinner.

"There was a good amount of blood, and I guess it wasn't that life threatening but it sure looked like it. He dribbled all the way across the street into the bar and against the wall and then there was a puddle."

Police Investigate Death on Interstate 5 North of Yoncalla

Police release the name of the deceased; 26-year old Jesse Golden was from Eugene.

(ROSEBURG, Ore.) - Death investigation Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers and the Douglas County Medical Examiner are continuing the investigation into the death of 26-year old Jesse Golden of Eugene, found deceased on the northbound shoulder of Interstate 5 about two miles north of Yoncalla underneath the Cox Road overpass.

There is no evidence at this time that Mr. Golden was struck by another vehicle, but his death may be associated with a fall or jump from the Cox Road overpass.

Police Shoot Armed Gunman Ending Hostage Scene at Discovery Channel

James Lee's MySpace states: "It's time for REVOLUTION!!!"

(SILVER SPRINGS, Md.) - ABC image of suspect James Lee Police in Montgomery County, Maryland say an armed gunman who was holding three hostages in the channel's building in Silver Springs has been shot by police.

Police say the suspect's name is James Lee, a resident of Silver Springs. He may be an environmental activist though information is somewhat sketchy at this point. It is reported that shots were fired. Silver Springs Police say the 43-year old suspect is not unknown. Lee has reportedly been calling for protests against Discovery Channel and was arrested for disorderly conduct outside of the company's headquarters in 2008.

U.S. Border Patrol arrest Man wanted in connection with a 2004 Portland, Oregon Homicide

Portland Police Detectives are in Yuma, Arizona assisted by the Yuma City Police Homicide Detectives.

(YUMA, Ariz.) - Carlos Anaya-Vera On Thursday, June 24, 2004, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Portland Police Officers were called to the 300 block of Southeast 126th Avenue to check the welfare of the resident at that location.

Upon arrival, police and medical personnel found an unconscious female inside. Medical personnel pronounced the female, later identified as, 31 year-old Leticia Bracamontes, dead at the scene. The Multnomah County Medical Examiner's Office conducted an autopsy and determined the victim died as a result of multiple stab wounds.

Honduran Police Reiterate Lack of Education in Teacher Repression

(TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras) - Protests in Tegucigalpa, Honduras During a meeting at the U.S. embassy in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, shortly after last year’s coup d’état against President Mel Zelaya—which U.S. Ambassador to Honduras Hugo Llorens alternately defined at the meeting as “a clear-cut case of a coup” and a “whatever you call it”.

Deputy Mission Chief Simon Henshaw described Honduran soldiers and police as “extremely uneducated” in their physical abuse of peaceful anti-coup protesters, who were variously on the receiving end of tear gas canisters, cigarette butts, vaginally-inserted police batons, and the occasional fatal bullet to the head.

17 Million Americans Drive Drunk Annually

To warn motorists about the dangers of drunken driving, the US government is spending about $13 million for an advertising campaign to publicize increased enforcement through the upcoming September 6 Labor Day weekend.

(TEHRAN Press TV) - Drunk driving A US government study says nearly 17 million Americans have driven a vehicle while drunk at least once within a year.

According to a 2008 survey conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), an estimated eight percent of all drivers, or 17.2 million people had driven a vehicle at least once even though they knew they were drunk.
