(SALEM, Ore.) - News ID issued to writer/photographer Tim King over the years. n a recent story comment, a woman describing herself as an Oregon reporter, suggested that news reporters don't need to identify themselves as such, while covering political events. I thought I'd take the opportunity to fill in a few blanks about media credentials and responsibilities.

Petraeous: The Man Who Paid Enemies and Then Cut Them Off

There is very little reason to believe that a war can be won in Afghanistan. There is no history of these people ever being defeated in the end.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Tim King flying in Gen. David Petraeous' jet from Baghdad to Ballad, Iraq People associate the name of Gen. David Petraeus with success in Iraq. That in and of itself, is one of the American society's single biggest mistakes.

How to Win a War When Losing? Dialogue with Taliban...

Let’s get to the heart of the problem. Let’s get rid of band aids and seek a cure.

(DUBAI) - Obama and military drones No, dialogue is NOT a solution!

It is merely another, quite common, much overused, abused, and never quite successful method of attempting, or pretending to attempt, to find or describe a solution; and it is usually compromised by bad faith on the part of one, two or all parties.

A Colorado Ex-Con`s Quest to Kill bin Laden

I am glad that Gary Brooks Faulkner is alive, he will likely be able to get a book deal now, etc. He's a smart guy in his own way, but I have a very hard time taking it seriously.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com The media loves a hero, and sometimes they do all they can to create the image of the consciousness of the American television viewing public.

As most people know by now, an American citizen was detained by Pakistani authorities while reportedly on a solo mission to kill Usama bin Laden. The media is whooping it up, and helping the guy get kidney dialysis treatment. Huh?

Require US Businesses to Hire Wounded Warriors

It does not matter whether you consider the wars these young men and women were injured in as just or unjust. You must realize that each of them believed that they were serving our country.

Several members of the West Point class of 1958 founded the program when it became apparent that many wounded warriors needed more attention than the Army could provide.

The program includes Walter Reed, Bethesda Naval Hospital, Ft. Meade, Ft. Belvoir, Ft. Gordon and other areas.
