Planning Underway for Occupy Portland

A strong show of support in other cities indicates that Occupy Portland is part of a growing national movement of people who no longer feel that their government works in their best interest.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Occupy Portland Occupy Portland begins Thursday at noon. Organizers of the event say they will gather in solidarity with the ongoing protest in New York City, Occupy Wall Street, and the growing number of cities whose people will no longer sit back watching corporate and special interests run their government.

City and police officials from Portland say they are currently in dialogue with the group. They say their goal is to allow free speech and ensure public safety.

“This is a grassroots satellite protest to bring awareness to the struggle on the streets of New York and to empower the 99% in this country,” - Occupy Seattle Website.

(SEATTLE Raw Story) - Salem-News.com Protesters in Seattle gathered at Westlake Park on Saturday morning to protest against corporations influence on the government. More than 100 people participated in “Occupy Seattle,” according to the event’s organizers.

“It’s amazing the diversity and the singular voice that we have,” said one protester.

Wrong, wrong, and wrong again as usual.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Barry McCaffrey I can't say that I am amused by the continuing blather erupted by Dr./Gen. Barry McCaffrey about PTSD and also drugs when he was interviewed by Mike Francis of the Oregonian 28 Sept. 2011.

He proved when he was drug czar in the White House a few years ago that he didn't know anything factual about marijuana and drug abuse and he repeated showing his ignorance in this article.
