(SALEM, Ore.) - File image of a previous Salem rally by Bonnie King Over the last several months, immigration restrictionists and right-wing politicians in Congress have been calling for a change in the 14th Amendment eliminating citizenship to babies born on United States soil.

Instead of promoting immigration reform that would overhaul a severely flawed and broken system, they see it politically opportune to deny citizenship and promote deportation of infants and children.

Nineteen Aliens Apprehended in the U.S. Virgin Islands

(St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.) - Salem-News.com Early this morning U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents and officers apprehended 19 aliens, 16 Cuban nationals and three Brazilian nationals, after making an illegal entry into this United States territory.

Ramey Sector Border Patrol agents arrested 16 Cuban aliens in the Cruz Bay area in St. John, after receiving information of an alleged disembarkation.

(ELOY, Az.) - Death penalty The U.S. fought a war in Vietnam that bled into Cambodia in 1970 and then was followed by a wind down period and eventual withdrawal of the last American combat troops from SE Asia in 1975.

The U.S. created a huge refugee problem in Cambodia, and today it should not forcefully deport a productive young woman adopted to American ways, back to Thailand, where her single past California drug conviction means an instant death sentence when she is returned.
