(LONDON) - This year, in March I was persuaded to write a small piece on the gang rape of a Sri Lankan girl who eventually escaped to the west. It was a story I had been reluctant to cover.

I am a novelist, not a journalist nor politician and I am not versed in the art of documentation. But the piece, Rani's Story had thousands of hits and continues to do so. Yet for all that the experience left me listless, depressed, reluctant to continue blogging. What could I talk about next? The weather?

(TEL AVIV Times of Israel) - “The struggle of the people of Palestine is our struggle” and South Africa has decided to “slow down” and “curtail senior leadership contact” with the Israeli “regime,” South Africa’s International Relations Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane said on Friday. Already, she said, South Africa’s government ministers do not visit Israel.

“Our Palestinian friends have never asked us to disengage with Israel [through cutting diplomatic relations]. They had asked us in formal meetings to not engage with the regime,” Nkoana-Mashabane was quoted by South African website News24 as telling a Congress of South African Trade Unions international relations committee meeting on Friday.

(SITTWE World Bulletin) - A boat carrying almost 70 Rohingya Muslim refugees fleeing sectarian tensions capsized Sunday off Myanmar's coast, police said, leaving dozens missing in treacherous seas.

The boat was believed to be taking the Rohingya from Myanmar's western state of Rakhine to Malaysia, where thousands of members of the Muslim minority have sought sanctuary since violent clashes with Buddhists erupted last year.

As usual settlers attempted to prevent us from doing our work in the kindergarten so they entered the kindergarten, a private area, owned by a Palestinian, and stopped YAS volunteers.

The Queen of England, the permanent president of Commonwealth, has failed to expel Sri Lanka from the CHOGM, the organisors of the protest said.
