Fire Update for the Detroit and Sweet Home Ranger DistrictsSalem-News.comVisitors may continue to experience increased fire traffic on forest roads. (DETROIT, Ore.) -
Firefighters on the Detroit and Sweet Home Ranger Districts are mopping up the remains of 49 fires that were started by lightning on August 17th. A majority of the fires are either out or in patrol status. Crews will continue to monitor the fires for several weeks.

The 950-acre Scott Mountain Fire is burning approximately two miles northeast of Scott Mountain, 15 miles west of Sisters, and 14 miles northeast of McKenzie Bridge in the Mt. Washington Wilderness Area.
