Jesusita Fire Near Santa Barbara Forces Thousands of Evacuations (VIDEO)

The fire is in Red Flag Warning stage, and 90 degree plus temperatures are expected this afternoon along with continuing wind.

(SANTA BARBARA, Calif.) - Jesusita Fire north of Santa Barbara, Calif. Extremely dry and windy conditions are fueling the Jesusita Fire north of Santa Barbara, California. It marks an early entry for the wildfire season in a state that saw severe damage and loss of life due to wildfires last year.

So far the Jesusita Fire has forced the evacuation of more than 13,000 homes. The residents of another 13,000 homes are on evacuation standby.

Wildfires Threaten Southern California and Arizona (VIDEO)

Accuweather.com reports that these fires come at the beginning of what could be a devastating fire season for portions of the West.

(LOS ANGELES) - Fire weather map A wildfire has forced mandatory evacuations in California Wednesday, while another fire continued to burn out of control in Arizona. Both fires started Tuesday and are currently threatening multiple structures.

The California fire, dubbed "The Jesusita Fire," started around 1:50 p.m Tuesday afternoon and quickly spread through the slopes of the San Roque Canyon north of Santa Barbara.

Reward Offered for Arrest of Salem Area Arson Suspect

The Oregon Council Against Arson is offering a reward of up $5,000 for information regarding the suspect or suspects in this case.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Fire, Salem, Oregon 12-08 May 3rd through 9th is "National Arson Awareness Week" and the Marion County Sheriff's Office would like to take the opportunity to request the public's help with an unsolved arson case.

Lt. Sheila Lorance says on December 6th 2008, the Marion County Sheriff's Office responded to the report of a residential burglary and fire in the 4000 block of 46th Ave NE.

Police Charge Three Juveniles With Arson

Charges against the young suspects include second-degree Arson, second-degree Burglary, Reckless Burning and second-degree Trespass.

(SALEM, Ore.) - 3266 Orchard Heights Road NW in Salem Three West Salem juveniles face charges in connection with an arson fire Sunday that resulted in no injuries, but did lead to the loss of a turn of the century area home.

Two Die in Crash on Highway 26 West of Sandy (PHOTOS)

An Eagle Creek Woman and her daughter died as a result of the crash.

(SANDY, Ore.) - Fatal Crash Investigation Oregon State Police troopers and Clackamas County interagency crash investigation team, are investigating a fatal crash that happened Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 26 and the east end of SE Orient Drive.

State troopers say the Saturday afternoon two-vehicle traffic crash resulted in the death of an Eagle Creek mother and her daughter, and non-life threatening injuries to a third person.

The state has recruited, trained, and organized nearly 180 private practitioners and veterinary technicians in Oregon who can help during an event that requires a lot of emergency assistance.

But instead of firefighters, a team of veterinarians and technicians can now be called upon to help during an animal health emergency or a disaster event that affects animals.

Oregon Sees Four Fatal Crashes Saturday

The weather brings residents outdoors in droves; but this sunny day is shadowed by multiple fatal crashes on Oregon's roads.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Fatal crash investigation Oregon State Police are on the scene of a fatal crash on Highway 99 near Savage Rapids Dam; at 6:45 p.m. Saturday they responded to a fatal traffic crash happened Highway 38 between Scottsburg and Elkton, involving a single motorcycle.

State troopers were called to the scene of a fatal crash at 4:45 p.m. on Highway 18, near milepost 5 in Lincoln County. Before that, they responded to a fatal traffic crash on Highway 101 south of Bandon.

Police say it happened on Highway 99W at Clow Corner Road.

(DALLAS, Ore.) - Car Plows Underneath Semi in Serious Injury Crash near Dallas, Oregon Police say a Salem-area man was seriously injured Friday afternoon when the car he was driving crashed into the side of a turning commercial trailer on Highway 99W at Clow Corner Road in Polk County.

According to Oregon State Police Trooper Michael Rockwell, the crash happened Friday at approximately 12:46 p.m.

Portland Firefighters Rescue Arborist Pinned in Tree (PHOTOS)

The man was pinned by a branch, 35 to 40 feet up the tree.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Portland Fire & Rescue Portland Fire & Rescue's Specialty Rescue Team was called out at 11:43 a.m. on a report of an arborist who was pinned against a tree.

Lt. Damon Simmons with Portland Fire & Rescue says the man was cutting the tree when a large limb fell, striking him in the shoulder and pinning his harness and arm to the tree.

Preliminary Information Regarding Death Investigation at Welches-area Parking Lot

The victim is identifued as 44-year old John Eugene Jarrett Jr. of Beaverton.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Oregon State Police and the Clackamas County Medical Examiner's Office are investigating the apparent accidental death of a food service delivery employee Tuesday morning who was found injured at the Welches Subway sandwich shop parking lot.

Oregon State Police Info: Lieutenant Gregg Hastings says the investigation indicates that today around 10:45 a.m., the victim, who works for Food Services of America, parked his commercial truck in the rear parking lot of the Welches Subway restaurant.
