This will be very difficult for Obama supporters to accept, but the violence in Egypt is due in part to disastrous American foreign policy.
Recent administrations have little if any sense of what the feeling of the street has been in Egypt; and because Mr. Mubarak was happy with his 1.3 billion dollar bribe each year, the administration naively assumed the street was happy.

Only a criminal regime could allow such criminal acts to dominate and terrorize innocent people with impunity.

Throughout the last week anti-Mubarak protesters have been demonstrating peacefully on daily basis in Tahrir square.
And on Tuesday when their numbers have exceeded one million protesters and despite the prior fear of loss of control over the crowds the whole day went by smoothly and with a displayed sense of jubilation and solidarity.

Reporters Without Borders is horrified by what appears to be an all-out witch-hunt against news media that are covering events in Egypt.
They're concerned for all the journalists currently in Cairo, especially on the eve of a major demonstration planned by President Hosni Mubarak’s opponents for tomorrow, which they are describing as the deadline for his departure.
Israel's sense of entitlement is a curse, and we are all either under its spell or under its shadow; only the inconceivable that turns into the inevitable can bring change to this place.
