Woodburn High School: Scene of Three Alarm Fire, all Students Evacuated

Parents should rest assured that by all accounts the students and employees are safe.

(WOODBURN, OR) - Salem-News.com A very serious fire broke out at Oregon's Woodburn High School this morning. From all reports there were no injuries. Students have been evacuated from the premises and we are told it was an orderly event and that students and staff acted in a safe manner.

It is too soon to know what started the fire, or all of the circumstances.

(SALEM) - Cascadia Forest Defenders climb Oregon capitol flagpole At 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 10th a member of the Cascadia Forest Defenders climbed the flagpole in front of the State Capitol, demanding that Governor Kitzhaber and the State Land Board decouple public school funding from state forest management.

The activist hung a large banner reading “Schools vs. Trees? We want both!”

Expert says cuts will affect approximately 50 million Americans struggling to meet their food needs.

(COLUMBIA, MO.) - Michelle Kaiser, a doctoral candidate in the MU School of Social Work Congress currently is considering the Agriculture Reform, Food and Jobs Act of 2012, commonly known as the “farm bill,” which would cut billions of dollars to public food assistance programs.
