Human Rights Groups Call for Immediate Transfer of Hunger Strikers to Civilian Hospitals

Call is for immediate intervention to provide all hunger strikers with unrestricted access to independent doctors.

(FREIDBURG, Germany) - Israel is holding Palestinian men, women and children in prison under 'administrative administration' which requires no evidence, no charges... and indefinite detainment.  Two organisations dedicated to the promotion and protection of human rights are calling for Israel to transfer hunger striking prisoners to civilian hospitals.

The 'Palestinian Council of Human Rights Organizations' and 'Physicians for Human Rights-Israel' are gravely concerned for the lives of three Palestinian prisoners who remain on hunger strike in Israeli prison.

Protests halt Rajapakse's address in City of London as Tamils deported from UK claim abuses.

(LONDON) - A MEETING in the City of London due to be addressed by the President of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapakse has been cancelled following the threat of large demonstrations by Tamil groups, Channel 4 reports.

This police spokesperson, who is also said to be an Attorney-at-Law, is further quoted as saying, "Torture is often misconstrued by the Media and the public.
