UPDATE: Tony Stewart Out of Sunday`s Race after Hitting, Killing Other Driver

Greg Zipadelli has announced that Tony Stewart will not race today. Regan Smith will run the #14 car today at Watkins Glen.

(CANANDAIGUA, N.Y.) - Kevin Ward Jr Tony Stewart struck and killed a fellow driver with his sprint car late Saturday night during a dirt-track race at Canandaigua (N.Y.) Motorsports Park, the Ontario County Sheriff's Department announced early Sunday morning.

In the sprint-car incident, Sheriff Philip Povero confirmed the driver, whom Povero would not identify, was dead on arrival to an area hospital Saturday night and that Stewart was the driver who struck him.

IRL: Dixon Goes from Last to First to Steal Win at Mid-Ohio

The victory by 5.3864 seconds over pole winner Sebastien Bourdais was the 34th of Dixon’s career.

The “Master of Mid-Ohio” won for the fifth time in the past eight years on the 2.258-mile, 13-turn road course by employing a three-stop fuel and tire strategy that was aided by clear sailing after gaining the lead for good on Lap 68.

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Kevin Harvick Suddenly the ace qualifier at Stewart-Haas Racing this year, Kevin Harvick dominated Saturday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series time trials at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, winning the pole for Sunday's Crown Royal 400 in track-record speed.

Fastest in all three rounds of knockout qualifying, Harvick earned his fourth Coors Light Pole Award of the season, his second at the Brickyard and the 10th of his career.

IRL: Bourdais, Conway Win in Toronto

In Race 1, Sebastien Bourdais claimed his 32nd Indy car career win.

(TORONTO) - Sebastien Bourdais Mike Conway earned his second Verizon IndyCar Series victory of the season by holding off Tony Kanaan over a three-lap sprint to the finish in the second race of the Honda Indy Toronto doubleheader.

Conway, driving the No. 20 Fuzzy’s Ultra Premium Vodka car for Ed Carpenter Racing, won by 3.5418 seconds following the Lap 54 restart after a red flag with 4 minutes, 23 seconds left in the 80-minute race.

The Schmidt Peterson Motorsports teammates finished 1-2 on the 1.634-mile, 10-turn temporary street circuit in the second of three doubleheader events this season.

IRL: Ed Carpenter Wins Shootout in Texas

(FORT WORTH, Texas) - It was shaping up to be a shootout between Ed Carpenter and Will Power under the lights at Texas Motor Speedway following the final round of service stops in the Firestone 600. That is until Power lost his weapon.

Power, the Verizon P1 Award winner in the No. 12 Verizon Team Penske car, led more than half of the 248-lap race on the 1.455-mile, high-banked oval but succumbed to a season-long gremlin entering pit lane by not hitting the 60 mph speed limit.

(FORT WORTH, Texas ) - Will Power earned his second consecutive Verizon P1 Award for the Verizon IndyCar Series race at Texas Motor Speedway with a two-lap average speed of 218.896 mph on the 1.455-mile, high-banked oval.

Power, driving the No. 12 Verizon Team Penske car, broke a tie with Dario Franchitti for sixth on the all-time Indy car list with his 34th pole and second of the season.
