Popular sites on the south end of the Forest, such as Trillium Lake, Clear Lake and Timothy Lake, are not affected by the fire and are all open.
The Northwest Oregon Interagency Incident Management Team says the Mt. Hood Complex fires are estimated at 400 acres, 300 acres on the Bluegrass and 100 acres on the Gumjuac.

Crews Battling Fires in Mt. Hood National ForestTIMBERLINE
The Northwest Oregon Interagency Incident Management Team assumed control of crews in the Forest.
A series of fires continue to burn on Mt. Hood National Forest as a result of a lightning storm that swept through the area the evening of August 7, 2006. The main area of concern is on the north east end of the Forest where an estimated 200 acre fire and several smaller fires are burning.
