CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State women’s soccer player Jodie Taylor has been named the Pac-10 Conference’s women’s soccer player of the week for the week of Aug. 28 - Sept. 3.

Commissioner Tom Hansen announced the award Tuesday after Taylor broke Oregon State’s all-time scoring and point record during the Beaver’s games against Cal State Northridge and No.4 ranked Portland.

Taylor now has 36 career goals and 87 points going into the rest of her senior season.

The forward from Merseyside, England has been a staple in Oregon State’s offense and continues to show her talent and leadership during the 2007 season.

In 2006 Taylor was named to three all-tournament teams and was named Pac-10 Player of the Week last year on Oct. 3 after Oregon State’s game against Portland State.

Taylor is the only Oregon State Player to win the Pac-10 award twice, as the honor is the sixth time an Oregon State player has been given the weekly honor.

Taylor and the Oregon State women’s soccer team take on the Montana Grizzlies Friday, Sept. 7 at 7:00 p.m. at Paul Lorenz Field at Patrick Wayne Valley Stadium.

The Beavers will also host UC Riverside on Sunday, Sept. 9 at 1:00 p.m. Admission is free to the game.
