Sep-30-2007 15:53Oregon Falls 3 Spots in AP Top 25Salem-News.com SPORTSLSU passes USC for the top spot in the AP Top 25 poll.
EUGENE, Ore. - The voters have spoken. Despite Oregon’s 31-24 home loss to Pac-10 Conference rival California on Saturday, it’s clear the media pool of football writers isn’t ready to dismiss the Ducks from the Top 15 conversation just yet, dropping them just three spots from 11th to No. 14. The Golden Bears (5-0, 2-0) – not surprisingly – went the opposite direction, riding their first win at Autzen Stadium in 20 years up three spots to No. 3. Oregon (4-1, 1-1) fell only one position in the USA Today Top 25 (Coaches Poll) from 12th to No. 13, giving the Pac-10 three teams among the top 14 of each poll with the inclusion of USC (4-0, 2-0); No. 1 in the USA Today and No. 2 in the AP. The Ducks now have a bye week followed by a home tilt with Washington State on Oct. 13. AP Top 25 1. LSU (33) 5-0 1,593 2. USC (32) 4-0 1,591 3. California 5-0 1,475 4. Ohio State 5-0 1,420 5.
