Beavers Fall to Arizona State

Oregon State dropped to 8-8, 1-3 Pac-10, while Arizona State improved to 9-8, 1-3 Pac-10.

TEMPE, Ariz. - Sophomore Lexie Rathgeber and freshman Jill Sawatzky both posted 11 kills each to lead the Beavers in the team’s three-game loss to Arizona State Friday evening.

The game scores were 28-30, 24-30, 20-30.

Oregon State dropped to 8-8, 1-3 Pac-10, while Arizona State improved to 9-8, 1-3 Pac-10.

The two teams tied 21 times and there were 12 lead changes throughout the match, with six occurring in the first game alone.

Sophomores Rachel Rourke and Bree Knitter both tallied nine kills each, while junior Ashley Evans had a team-high 12 digs.

Arizona State’s Sarah Reaves had the best night offensively for the Sun Devils with 17 kills, while Alison Lund matched Reaves on defense with 17 digs.

The Beavers head back to Gill Coliseum next week hosting No. 2 Stanford on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m
