CORVALLIS, Ore. - The incoming recruiting class for the Oregon State baseball team has been ranked as the third-best nationally by the Collegiate Baseball, the publication announced Wednesday. The Beavers are the highest ranked Pacific-10 Conference club, and trail only No. 1 LSU and No. 2 Florida State nationally. Notre Dame is fourth followed by No. 5 UCLA. Among the incoming players for the Beavers is middle infielder Garrett Nash, who comes to Oregon State from Jordan High School in Draper, Utah. A fourth round selection in the 2007 Major League Baseball draft by Texas, he was rated as the nation’s No. 6 freshman by rivals.com earlier this month. Right-handed pitcher Greg Peavey also joins the Beavers, coming from Vancouver, Wash. Selected in the 24th round of the 2007 MLB Draft by the New York Yankees, he hit 10 home runs as an infielder last season. Kevin Rhoderick, another right-handed pitcher, comes to the Beavers with impressive credentials out of Horizon High School in Scottsdale, Ariz. He went 9-1 with 117 strikeouts his senior season and was drafted in the 18th round by Detroit. After going 33-0 at Cottonwood High School in Murray, Utah, Tanner Robles was drafted in the 14th round by the Los Angeles Angels but did not sign. A left-handed pitcher, he went 10-0 with 109 strikeouts in 50 innings as a senior. He’ll be joined by fellow left-hander Josh Osich out of Boise, Idaho.
