Bruins Finish 8th in One-Day Event at Michelbook CC

McMINNVILLE, Oregon - Junior Mike Ulstad shot an eight-over-par 80 to tie for 22nd place and lead the scoring for the George Fox University Bruins, who finished eighth in the one-day Linfield College Invitational Men’s Golf Tournament Friday afternoon here at the Michelbook Country Club course.

The Bruins shot 333 as a team on the par 72, 6,572-yard course. Host Linfield edged Pacific University 300 to 302, with Warner Pacific College and Whitman College tying for third at 304. Corban College was a close fifth with a 305 score, followed by Northwest Christian University at 321, Concordia University-Portland at 322, and then George Fox.

In addition to Ulstad’s score, Chris Lumdsen shot an 82 for the Bruins to tie for 28th, Kyle Wilson carded an 83 to finish 36th, and Austin Rowland took 44th with an 88. Aleks Gabrio was entered but did not finish.

Max Bonk of Pacific took medalist honors out of 50 players with a six-under 66, four strokes ahead of Andrew Johnson of Warner Pacific at 70. Alex Fitch of Linfield was third with a 71, while there was a three-way tie for fourth at 73 among Jason Anderson of Warner Pacific, Brian Barton of Whitman, and Joey Duwe of Corban.
