STANFORD, Calif. - Kickoff for tonight's game between No. 13 Oregon and Stanford at Stanford Stadium is set for 7:00 p.m. PDT. The game can be heard live on 1430 KYKN AM in the Salem-area, and on 750 KXL AM in the Portland-metro area. LAST WEEK Dennis Dixon threw for two touchdowns and ran for another, Jonathan Stewart ran for 165 yards as the Ducks (3-0 overall, 0-0 Pac-10) defeated Fresno State 52-21 last Saturday. Stewart scored two touchdowns, including an 88-yard dash to the end zone, and the Ducks (3-0) outrushed the Bulldogs 307-60. The Cardinal (1-1 overall, 0-1 Pac-10) is coming off a 37-0 win over San Jose State, their first shutout in 11 years. THE SERIES Oregon trails in the all-time series versus Stanford, 43-26-1, but has won five straight. Last year, UO won 48-10 in the season opener at Autzen Stadium, marking the largest margin of victory by the Ducks in the series. Stanford’s last win came in 2001, 49-42, in Eugene. The Cardinal’s last home victory in the series was 58-49 in 1997. QUICK HITS • Mike Bellotti became the sixth Pac-8/Pac-10 head coach to record 100 victories with the same conference team when the Ducks defeated Fresno State, 52-21, on Sept. 15. • Oregon has been ranked in at least one of the two major polls at some point during all but one of Bellotti’s 13 seasons (1997). • The Ducks’ current No. 13 ranking is their highest since being pegged No. 11 in both the AP and USA Today (coaches) polls on Oct. 2, 2006. • Through the first three weeks of the season, Oregon ranks third nationally in turnover margin (2.67). Last year, the Ducks finished 109th (-0.77). • SR QB Dennis Dixon ranks eighth in the country in passing efficiency with a rating of 182.60. • JR RB Jonathan Stewart has rushed for more than 100 yards in two straight games. • Oregon leads the Pac-10 Conference in scoring offense with an average of 46.3 points per game. • The Ducks went 5-for-5 in Red Zone chances vs. Fresno State with 4 TDs and 1 FG. NON-CONFERENCE SUCCESS The Ducks have amassed a 27-1 record in non-conference games in Autzen Stadium during Mike Bellotti’s head coaching tenure. Their lone home loss during that span was dealt by Indiana (30-24) to open the 2004 season. Overall, Oregon has accumulated a 39-5 non-league slate in Bellotti’s 13 years at the helm. C-NOTE FOR BELLOTTI With UO’s win over Fresno State on Sept. 15, Mike Bellotti joined a select number of coaches, becoming the sixth to amass 100 or more wins at one school in the Pac-8/Pac-10 Conference. Leading the way is Washington’s Don James, who tallied a 153-57-2 mark (1975-92) in 18 seasons in Seattle. The other four were UCLA’s Terry Donahue (151-74-8; 1976-95), as well as USC’s John McKay (127-40-8; 1960-75), Howard Jones (121-36-13; 1925-40) and John Robinson (104-35-4; 1976-82, 1993-97). Tommy Prothro did combine for a 104-55-5 record at Oregon State (1955-64) and UCLA (1965-70), but 63 wins were the most posted at one school (OSU). Frank Kush acquired a 176-54-1 ledger in 22 seasons at Arizona State but only 12 of those wins occurred after the Sun Devils became a part of the Pac-10 in 1978. DUCKS AND BEARS ON TV Oregon’s Sept. 29 home game against California will be carried live by ESPN on ABC. That brings the total number of live telecasts this season to eight with a chance for three more on the horizon. TOTAL ‘O’ SR QB Dennis Dixon cruised into Oregon’s career record book for total offense, thanks to his 368-yard effort at Michigan, Sept. 8. Dixon ranks 10th all-time with 4,492 yards. RUNNING IT UP The Ducks have surpassed the 300-yard rushing mark in all three games this season, totaling 339 vs. Houston, 331 at Michigan and 307 vs. Fresno State. The string marks the first time in the Mike Bellotti era that the Ducks have put up more rushing yards than passing yards in three consecutive games. Oregon has five games of 300-plus since the start of 2006 and the game against the Cougars marked the highest total since setting the school record of 446 yards at Washington State Oct. 27, 2001.
