NEWPORT, Ore. - Last week, Lincoln County Sheriff's Sergeant Adam Shanks responded to the Agate Beach Golf Course in the north Newport area to investigate a Criminal mischief complaint. The investigation revealed an unknown vehicle entered the golf course sometime during the night hours of Sept. 13 and caused extensive damage to the 5th and 6th fairways by intentionally spinning its tires while driving in several circles. The damage to the course is estimated to exceed $1000 in repair costs. The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information relating to this incident or the person(s) responsible for having caused the damage, to call Sergeant Shanks at 541-265-4936. Information can also be communicated through the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office website at www.lincolncountysheriff.net.
