Bearcats Roll Past Northwest Christian in Willamette's Season-Opener, 25-20, 25-16, 25-19

Blankenship Provides 15 Kills, McGraw Adds 13 Kills and 14 Digs.

SALEM, Ore. - Junior outside hitter Molly Blankenship (Priest River, ID/Lamanna HS/Spokane CC) and senior outside hitter Jessie McGraw (Gaston, OR/Yamhill-Carlton HS/Corban College) led the Willamette University volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over Northwest Christian University in the Bearcats' season-opener, Tuesday, Sept. 1, at Cone Field House.

The Bearcats won 25-20, 25-16, 25-19 to start the season at 1-0. NCU fell to 2-3 overall.

Blankenship, in her first match since transferring from Spokane CC, registered a match-high 15 kills and hit .500. McGraw tacked on 13 kills, a .478 attack percentage and 14 digs. Brigit Miller (Fr., S, Olympia, WA/Olympia HS) earned 27 assists for the Bearcats as the starting setter. Chelsie Mow (Fr., S/DS, Honolulu, HI/Hawaii Baptist Academy) recorded 14 assists in Game #3.

Northwest Christian was led by Emily Miller with 120 kills and by Cassie Bishop with nine kills. The Beacons were held to a .122 team hitting percentage. Willamette hit .363 as a team.
