EL PASO, Texas - Sophomore forward Dolly Enneking and junior defender Laura Ellison both recorded a goal and an assist as Portland State erupted for four second-half goals to beat North Florida 4-1 at the Miners’ Classic Sunday morning at University Field. The Osprey (1-2-1) carried a 1-0 lead into the break when freshman forward Kristin Lazowick scored off a rebound in the 37th minute. The goal was the first of the year for Lazowick. Portland State (2-2) scored two goals less than a minute apart early in the second half. Enneking beat junior goalkeeper Rachael Howard with a shot on the lower left side in the 50th minute to tie the game. Sophomore midfielder Tarah Authier made it 2-1 in the 51st minute when she scored on a one-timer off a crossing pass by freshman forward Iman Bearde. Enneking’s goal was her first of the season, while Authier recorded her second. In the 70th minute, Ellison registered her first career goal when she tapped in a loose ball in the box. Ellison fed a pass to Enneking who knocked the ball back toward Ellison for the goal. Sophomore forward Kat Robertson capped the scoring in the 88th minute when a clearance by the North Florida defense went right to Robertson, who beat Howard to the left side. The goal was also the first of Robertson’s career. Sophomore goalkeeper Cris Lewis recorded eight saves for the Vikings, while Howard also had eight stops for the Osprey. Portland State held an 18-16 advantage in shots, while both teams had five corner kick opportunities.
