McMINNVILLE, Ore. - A first-half goal from Travis Isaacs proved to be the difference Saturday in a Northwest Conference match at the Linfield soccer field, as Linfield beat visiting George Fox 4-0. Linfield improves to 6-3-1 overall and 2-3-1 in NWC play. George Fox slips to 3-7-1 overall and 1-4-1 in conference action. The Wildcats took a 1-0 lead in the 36th minute when Kevin Donato hooked up with Isaacs. Isaccs converted the shot by beating Bruin goalkeeper Jake Maguire with a line-drive blast to the top left corner of the net. Linfield took a 1-0 lead into the second half, and would score three more times. The second half scoring started the two minutes into the half, when Zach Hubbard scored his first goal of the season giving the ‘Cats a 2-0 advantage. The final two goals would come in the final six minute of the game from Andy Sharp and Brice Land. Isaccs was credited with the assist on Land’s goal. Linfield’s defense was stellar on the afternoon, as Mike Belzberg captured his fourth shutout of the season. The Wildcats outshot the Bruins 15-4 for the match. Belzberg accounted for four saves, as his counterpart Maguire tallied four saves as well. George Fox had to play a man down the final 12:28 of the match, hindering its chances of a late-game surge.
