PORTLAND, Ore. - University of Portland women’s soccer player Michelle Enyeart and cross country standout John Moore earned West Coast Conference September Player of the Month honors for their respective sports, the league announced on Thursday.

Enyeart, a sophomore forward from Hemet, Calif., led the injury-riddled Pilots to a 7-3-0 record in September and is the national leader with 10 assists.

She also leads the WCC in total points with 14 (2g, 10a).

Enyeart and the Pilots achieved a No. 1 national ranking early in September and finished the month ranked No. 8.

Enyeart, who tallied six total assists last season, recorded at least one assist in seven of Portland’s 10 matches, including a career-high three in the Pilots’ 4-1 win over in-state rival Oregon State.

Moore, an All-American in both cross country and track & field, got off to a fast start in September by posting the top time of any WCC runner in an 8,000-meter event.

Moore led the Pilots to a fourth place finish at the Bill Dellinger Invitational, which featured eight nationally ranked teams among a field of 15.

Moore’s time of 23:45 placed him eighth individually and helped Portland finish the month ranked No. 13 nationally.
