PORTLAND, Ore. - Coming off a big road win, the Portland State Vikings will try to maintain their first place standing on Saturday as they host Northern Arizona. The Vikings and Lumberjacks will square off in a Big Sky Conference contest at 1:35 p.m. at PGE Park. Portland State is 2-0 in the Big Sky after a second-half comeback win on the road at Eastern Washington last Saturday. PSU beat the Eagles, 28-21 after trailing 14-7 at halftime, and share first place with Montana State (also 2-0), while Montana sits at 1-0. Reigning Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of The Week Brian White will lead the Vikings on Saturday. White had 329 passing yards, 50 rushing yards and threw for three touchdowns in the win. The Vikings currently lead the nation in passing at 338.4 yards per game. Despite being 2-3 overall this year, the Vikings have won six straight Big Sky Conference games dating to last season. One of those six wins came against NAU last Nov. 4 in Flagstaff, 34-26. Northern Arizona is also 2-3 this season, and is 1-1 in the Big Sky after a 38-9 road loss at Sacramento State last Saturday. The Hornets are the only common opponent for the Vikings and Lumberjacks. PSU beat Sacramento State on Sept. 15 in the PGE Park, 35-24. Northern Arizona holds a commanding series lead of 7-4 in the Big Sky Conference games (10-4 overall), but PSU has won the last two meetings. That includes a 45-0 win over NAU in 2005 at PGE Park. Portland State wants to pack PGE Park and make it "dark as night" on Saturday with a Black Out in the stands. Fans are encouraged to come clad in ALL BLACK. The first 2,000 students get a FREE Nike Back In Black T-Shirt. Tickets for Saturday’s game can be purchased in prices ranging from $12 to $35. Groups of 15 or more get special admission prices. To purchase tickets by phone, call 1-888-VIK-TIKS or 503-725-3307. Tickets are on sale at the PSU ticket office, located in Smith Memorial Student Union, 1825 SW Broadway. You can also purchase tickets on-line at www.GoViks.com. Saturday's game can be heard on 910 KTRO AM. The pregame show begins at 12:30 p.m. Source: Portland State Athletics
