SALEM, Ore. - Junior goalkeeper Karyn Allen received her second Cascade Collegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Week award Tuesday, as announced by the conference office, after helping the Warriors to a 2-1 record last week.

The 5-foot-8 net-minder played all 270 minutes between the pipes for the Warriors last week and posted victories against NCAA Division II member Western Oregon (2-1) and fellow CCC member Eastern Oregon (1-0).

Along with the wins, Allen registered 12 saves and recorded a Goals Against Average (GAA) of 1.00 after allowing a mere three goals in three games.

Allen began the week on Tuesday with a victory over the Wolves of Western Oregon in a game that was played at Sparks Field on the campus of Willamette University.

The junior keeper faced 10 total shots (5 on goal) and recorded a game-high four saves en route to securing her third win of the season.

Three days later, Allen stepped back between pipes against Cascade Collegiate Conference member Albertson and fell victim to a pair of second half goals en route to suffering a 2-1 loss to the host 'Yotes.

Despite the setback, Allen recorded a game-high tying five saves while facing 10 shots (7 on goal).

Closing out the week, Allen picked up her second shutout of the season (and fourth victory) thanks to a 1-0 win over the Mountaineers of Eastern Oregon.

Standing between the pipes, Allen needed to make three saves in order to keep the host Mountaineers off the scoreboard as she faced nine shots (three on goal).

"Karyn has been a big addition to our team this season," said twelfth head coach Marty Ziesemer. "To win this award for the second time this season is amazing. She has worked hard all year and it is beginning to show when it counts the most."

This honor is the second for Allen this season and in her career.

The announcement gives Corban's women's soccer program four straight conference Players of the Week (two Offensive and two Defensive).

So far this season, Corban is 6-7-0 overall, 3-2-0 in conference play.

The Warriors are next in action on Thursday, October 4th, against The Evergreen State College beginning at 4:00 p.m. to kick off a regular season-ending five-game Cascade Collegiate Conference home stand.
