Team Black Takes 5-1 Win at Orange and Black Baseball Series

The series continues Friday at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field, with first pitch scheduled for approximately 2:45 p.m

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The black club took a 2-1-1 lead at the Orange and Black World Series after taking a 5-1 decision Thursday afternoon at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.

Mark Grbavac took the hill to start for the black team and pitched three innings, surrendering two hits and a run. He also walked two.

Kyle Cefalo continued strong from the mound in relief, going two innings Thursday. He walked two, but did not allow a hit or a run.

Kyle Sitton started for the gray club and went a full three innings. He allowed five runs on six hits while striking out three.

Brad Reid came on in relief for the final two innings and struck out one. He did not allow a runner to reach base.

Erik Ammon led the black team with doubles, while Daniel Robertson tripled and Drew George doubled in the third.

Brandon Hayes singled home a run in the second and Jackson Evans doubled in the third for gray squad, which was held to two hits by Grbavac and Cefalo.

The series continues Friday at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field, with first pitch scheduled for approximately 2:45 p.m.
