REDMOND, Ore. - Jacob Simonson (Fr., Fairview, OR/Reynolds HS) from Willamette University tied for 12th in the final individual standings at the Northwest Conference Men's Golf Fall Classic, which ended on Sunday, Oct. 24 with the second round of play at Juniper Golf Course. Simonson, who was one of four golfers to card a two-day total of 163, shot 78 in the first round and 85 in the second round. The University of Puget Sound took first place in the team standings with a score of 632 (320-312). Pacific University was seven stroke behind the Loggers and claimed second place at 639 (330-309). Linfield College was third at 644, Whitworth University was fourth at 649 Whitman College placed fifth after carding a team score of 662, to hold off Pacific Lutheran University, which finished sixth at 663. George Fox University was seventh at 681, Willamette was eighth at 701 and Lewis & Clark College was ninth at 739. Willamette improved by 11 strokes on the second day, as the Bearcats carded 356-345. Max Bonk of Pacific won medalist honors. He recorded a 36-hole score of 5-under-par 139, as he shot a 73 on Saturday and a 6-under-par 66 on Sunday. Bonk won by 12 strokes. Alex Fitch from Linfield ended the tournament in second place at 151 (76-75). Riley Conlin from Puget Sound garnered third place at 155 (78-77) and Matt Kitto of UPS placed fourth at 156 (81--75). Fifth place was achieved by Andrew Welch from Whitman, who registered a total of 157 (77-80). Following Simonson on Willamette's team scorecard was Connor Boyd (Fr., Oregon City, OR/Oregon City HS), who shot a 79 in the second round to complete the weekend at 171. Boyd tied for 25th. Kyle Flowers (Fr., Vancouver, WA/Skyview HS) carded a two-day score of 184 for the Bearcats. Also for Willamette, Daniel Rehm (Fr., Salem, OR/South Salem HS) earned an overall score of 186 and Dylan Johnson (Fr., Seattle, WA/Nathan Hale HS) completed the 36 holes with a score of 187.
