Oregon Men's Golf Tied For Third After First Day At Cabo Collegiate

CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico - The Oregon State men’s golf team is tied for third place after the first day of play at the Cabo Collegiate at the Querencia Los Cabos Golf Club.

Freshman David Fink fired a 1-under 71 to lead the Beavers and is tied for third overall, trailing Bryan Harris of UC-Irvine (68) and Matt Eschenburg of Houston (69). Junior Morten Madsen shot a 2-over 74 and is tied for 13th, while junior Alex Moore is tied for 17th after finishing with a 3-over 75.

The tournament will resume tomorrow at the 7,070-yard, par 72 Querencia Los Cabos Golf Club, which has been rated the top course in Mexico by Golf Digest. The third and final round will be played on Monday with a field that includes nine teams that were ranked among GolfWeek’s Top 100 a year ago.
