Oct-21-2010 20:52KWTV 17.1 to Televise Mid Valley Football EventSalem-News.com Sports
SALEM, Ore. - KWVT 17.1 will televise a yearly rivalry between two power houses in the 1A football league, Perrydale (Amity Pirates) and St. Paul (St. Paul Pirates). KWVT has been following these two team and normally one of them is a 1A champion. These students come from all over the mid valley and from not only inside of their respective districts but outside due in part to the great program each of these schools offer.
As part of the KWTV's commitment to work with each school at half time we will broadcast student productions of "This is Perrydale"" and "This is St. Paul". These mini-productions have been great way to expose to students talent as well
Over 800,000 homes can watch KWVT throughout the Willamette Valley from Portland to Eugene with an antenna on channel 17.1. Ken Lewetag station manager said " we have had a great year this season broadcasting teams from Eugene, Albany, Corvallis, Dallas and Salem with our increased coverage. The schools love the idea of getting their players on TV. Adding the student produced video has involved more students and showing off their talents as well".
KWVT can be seen on channel 17.1 using an antenna or on various cable system, throughout the Mid valley For more information on local our local sports scheduling visit www.kwvtsalem.com
