BOSTON, Mass. - The Willamette University women's rowing team competed on Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Head of the Charles Regatta. Willamette had one boat compete today and their other boat will race tomorrow, Sunday, Oct. 18.
Willamette's Women's Collegiate 4+ finished in 14th place with a time of 20:57.067. The team, which received an automatic bid, was made up of coxswain Erica Soma (Jr., Scotts Valley, CA), stroke seat Marguex Hunter (Fr., Ridgefield, WA), 3 seat Sarah Ferrier(So., Seattle, WA), 2 seat Heidi Hunt (So., Bellingham, WA), bow seat Libby Tobey (So., Salt Lake City, UT). Trinity College won the race with a time of 19:15.668. There were 18 teams competing in the race.
Willamette's second boat, which got an at-large bid, will compete at 1:38 p.m. (EDT) in the Women's Collegiate 8+ race on Sunday, Oct. 18. The team is made up of coxswain Linnea Schuster (Jr., Honolulu, HI), stroke seat Sarah Schroeder (So., Wilsonville, OR), 7 seat Kelsey White (So., Camp Sherman, OR), 6 seat Hilary Andrus (Sr., Chimacum, WA), 5 seat Gwen Hryciw (Fr., Portland, OR), 4 seat Geneva Hooten (Jr., Vancouver, WA), 3 seat Lea Griggs (So., Woodbury, MN), 2 seat Karina Hoogstede (So., Poulsbo, WA), and bow seat Hannah Waller (So., Bozeman, MT).
