CORVALLIS, Ore. - Members of the two-time defending national championship Oregon State baseball team will be honored during halftime of the Beavers’ football game against Stanford on Oct. 27 at Reser Stadium. Kickoff for the non-televised game is at 3:35 p.m. The team will be recognized for their second straight title, going 5-0 at the College World Series in Omaha, Neb., in June. Oregon State outscored its opponents, 42-16, and led for every inning but one. Jorge Reyes was named the College World Series’ Most Valuable Player after going 2-0 at Rosenblatt Stadium. The national championship gave Oregon State the distinction of being the first program to repeat in a decade and just the fifth team to do so in NCAA baseball history. The presentation on Oct. 27 will begin with a video highlight clip that will be followed by interviews with head coach Pat Casey and former Beavers Mitch Canham and Darwin Barney. Oregon State players will also be signing autographs prior to the game. From noon to 1 p.m., fans will have the chance to meet the team and get items autographed at Parker Plaza. Items for signatures will not be provided. Additionally, former Oregon State high jumper and Olympic Gold Medalist Dick Fosbury will present the game ball prior to kickoff. Fosbury was recently elected President of the World Olympians Association and is a National Track and Field Hall of Famer. In 1992, he was inducted into the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame.
