Oregon's Dixon Named to ESPN Heisman Trophy Contest

In Pac-10 play, Dixon is averaging more than 300 passing yards per game.

EUGENE, Ore. - Oregon senior quarterback Dennis Dixon is one of 18 players listed for Heisman Trophy consideration by an ESPN.com fan contest.

Fans can vote for one of the candidates listed or add their own Heisman nominee.

The athlete with the most votes will receive one official vote in the Heisman Trophy selection process. Heisman Trophy winners are determined by votes from 924 electors representing sportswriters and broadcasters.

Dixon, who currently ranks among the top 10 on several Heisman watch lists, has completed better than 70 percent of his passes this season for 1,525 yards and 15 touchdowns through six games.

He ranks third nationally in passing efficiency while also leading his team in rushing TDs with six. In Pac-10 play, Dixon is averaging more than 300 passing yards per game.
