SALEM, Ore. - Thanks to their play last week in two matches, junior Rashelle Davenport and sophomore Amy Thompson were named Cascade Collegiate Conference Player and Setter of the Week respectively as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

Davenport, who was named conference Player of the Week, helped lead Corban to an undefeated record last week as she tied for the team lead in kills with a combined 35 in nine games.

The 5-foot-7 right-side hitter registered 13 kills on Tuesday against Concordia in Corban's 3-1 victory, while recording a team-high 25 digs from the back row.

Three days later against first-year member Northwest Christian, Davenport led all players with a match-high 22 kills and registered her second straight double-double with 15 digs in helping Corban pick up its first-ever season sweep of the Beacons with a thrilling five-game victory. Along with her kills and digs total, Davenport also handed out six assists and served four aces in the two matches.

Thompson, who was named conference Setter of the Week for the second time this season, helped guide the Warriors to a perfect 2-0 record last week as she ran Corban's offensive attack with a combined team-best 105 assists.

The 5-foot-6 setter averaged almost 12 assists per game in the Warriors' nine games last week, while putting together back-to-back double-doubles with 14 digs against Concordia and 10 digs against Northwest Christian.

Thompson handed out match-highs of 46 and 59 assists against Concordia and Northwest Christian respectively, while recording nine kills and a pair of service aces to go along with three assist blocks.

This is the first time this season that Corban's women's volleyball program has had two players named as Players of the Week at the same time, as Davenport picked up her first-ever POW award as a Warrior.

Along with the conference award, both Davenport and Thompson were also named NAIA Region I Player and Setter of the Week therefore putting both of them in the running for national honors that are announced on Wednesday.

Corban is currently 9-9 overall (7-5 in conference play) and are tied with conference rival Concordia for fifth place in the latest conference standings with six matches remaining.
