Oct-14-2007 15:45Oregon Jumps to #7; Ohio State New #1Salem-News.com SPORTSOhio State (7-0) moved up to No. 1 in all three polls after former #1 LSU and #2 Cal were upset Saturday.
EUGENE, Ore. - The Oregon Ducks jumped two spots in the latest college football AP Top 25 and now rank No. 7 - their highest position in the poll since ending the 2005 regular season at No. 6. The Ducks (5-1, 2-1 Pac-10) also improved their standing in the USA Today (coaches) rankings, coming in at No. 6, and in the Harris Poll, where they picked up three spots to place seventh. The Harris Poll is utilized as part of the BCS standings, which were released for the first time in 2007 on Sunday. In the BCS, Oregon is No. 10, dragged down by a No. 13 computer ranking. After hammering Washington State at home Saturday, 53-7, Oregon is the highest of the four ranked Pac-10 teams in all but the BCS standings. Arizona State (7-0, 4-0), the only unbeaten team in the conference (overall record), is No. 12 in the AP, USA Today and Harris, but No. 8 in the BCS. California who was upset by Oregon State 31-28 Saturday night, fell from No. 2 to No. 10 in the AP poll, and is No. 12 in the BCS standings. Up next for the Ducks are the Washington Huskies (2-4, 0-3) in Seattle on Saturday, Oct. 20. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. with a live telecast on FSN. BCS Standings:
