NEWBERG, Ore. - In a last-minute addition to their respective fall schedules, the George Fox University Bruins and the Pacific University Boxers will compete in a men's golf dual match this Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Juniper Country Club in Redmond, Ore., with tee time set for 10:00 a.m.

Playing a one-day match at Juniper will allow both teams to familiarize themselves with the course which will host this year's Northwest Conference Fall Classic on Oct. 23-24. The NWC Fall Classic counts as one quarter of the scores that determine the conference championship, with the Spring Classic also counting as one quarterm and the NWC Championship Tournament scores in April doubled and counting as one half.

Bruins coach Matt Beck has also announced details for next weekend’s George Fox Invitational, which is scheduled for Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 9-10, at the Chehalem Glenn Golf Course in Newberg. On Saturday, each foursome will go off from the No. 1 tee starting at 11:00 a.m. On Sunday, there will be a shotgun start, with each group beginning at a different tee and all going off at 7:30 a.m.

Teams that are currently expected to join the Bruins in the GFU Invitational include Lewis & Clark College, Linfield College, Pacific University, and Pacific Lutheran University.
