Two Wildcats Win NWC Player of The Week Honors

The Special Teams Player of the Week was Placekicker Scott Birkhofer who broke his own school record with a 53-yard field goal

McMINNVILLE, Ore. - Two Linfield Wildcats have received honors for their football performances against Puget Sound in the Northwest Conference.

The Defensive Player of the Week went to Brian Mehl. He led the Wildcats' with eleven tackles, a four-yard sack and an interception.

The Special Teams Player of the Week was Placekicker Scott Birkhofer who broke his own school record with a 53-yard field goal and made 4 of 5 PAT attempts.

Linfield (2-2) whipped Puget Sound 37-0 last Saturday. The Wildcats meet Southern Oregon (3-2) this Saturday in Ashland. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
