The game can be heard over the Beaver Sports Radio Network with Jon Warren providing the call.
Oregon State enters with a record of 0-4 on the year after a heartbreaking, 82-79 overtime loss to Montana State on Wednesday. Rickey Claitt and Roeland Schaftenaar had career nights in the loss as Claitt scored a career-high 21 points with Schaftenaar recording a career-high 18 points.
The Beavers scored a season-high 79 points in the loss as Oregon State shot a season-high 58.7 percent (27-of-46) from the field.
Fresno State enters the weekend with a record of 2-2 on the season as the Bulldogs picked up a 79-58 victory over Seattle on Tuesday. Sylvester Seay led four players in double figures in the victory with 22 points.
The Bulldogs hold a slight, 7-6, edge in the series as Fresno State has won two straight meetings against Oregon State. Fresno State captured a 74-69 victory in Corvallis during the 2006-07 season, the last meeting between the two schools. SCOUTING THE FRESNO STATE BULLDOGS Fresno State, led by third-year head coach Steve Cleveland, enters with a record of 2-2 on the season after the Bulldogs picked up a 79-58 victory over Seattle on Tuesday.
Sylvester Seay leads the Fresno State attack at 16.5 points per game as four players are averaging in double figures for the Bulldogs. In addition to Seay, Paul George (14.0), Dwight O’Neill (11.5) and Mychal Ladd (11.5) also average at least 10 points per game for Fresno State.
On the season, Fresno State is shooting 47.1 percent from the field while holding opponents to just 42.1 percent from the floor. RICKEY CLAITT AND ROELAND SCHAFTENAAR HAVE CAREER NIGHTS The loss against Montana State saw several Oregon State players establish career marks as Rickey Claitt and Roeland Schaftenaar had strong performances against the Bobcats. Claitt scored a season and career-best 21 points. Claitt surpassed his previous career best of 11 points in the first half alone, scoring 13. He was a perfect 5-for-5 (3-for-3 3-point) from the field in the first half and was 9-of-12 for the game.
Meanwhile, Schaftenaar scored a season and career-best 18 points on 5-of-8 shooting and 8-of-10 from the free-throw line. He also recorded a season and career-best three blocks, tied his career best with four assists, and tied a season best four rebounds.
Sophomore Omari Johnson scored a season-high 12 points (5-of-5 FT) while he led the team with a season best seven rebounds. UP NEXT...
