OSU Wrestling: Beavers Fall to No. 6 Nebraska

Wrestling continues its trip in the Midwest by facing No. 12 Wisconsin on Sunday at 11:00 AM PT.

LINCOLN, Neb. - Senior Heinrich Barnes (Pretoria, South Africa) was the lone Beaver wrestler to score bonus points with a technical fall, but Oregon State fell to No. 6 Nebraska, 34-8, on Friday evening.

Barnes controlled the match against Chris Hacker from the beginning before scoring three straight near falls in the second period. Hacker’s only points were on escapes.

Also winning a match for the Beavers was redshirt freshman Kelly Kubec (Lake Stevens, Wash.), who recorded a 7-2 decision over Matt Vacanti at 133 pounds. Kubec also tallied a near fall right before time expired.

197 Pounds – No. 4 Craig Brester decision over Chad Hanke (OSU), 9-3
