MONMOUTH, Ore. - Western Oregon's Travis Kuhns scored 27 points to help lead his red-hot teammates to a 110-88 season opening victory over Corban College on Saturday night in front of 1,125 fans at the Physical Education Building.

Kuhns led five total Wolves in double figures as WOU begins the year at 1-0. The Warriors dropped to 1-2 with the loss.

Sam Kelly hit all seven of his shots on the night, including four three-pointers, to finish with 19 points. Adonal Arrington added 16 points and eight rebounds, Brad Krichevsky had 12, and Stanley Ratcliff posted 11.

Arrington had eight rebounds and Dane Johnson dished nine assists. Western Oregon shot a sizzling 61 percent on the night, and out-rebounded their visitors 48-21.

The Wolves led for most of the first half before taking a 48-44 margin into the locker room at halftime. Corban would creep back to tie the game on a Ben Sisler three-pointer (56-56) three minutes into the second half.

But on WOU's next possession, Brad Krichevsky was fouled on a three-point attempt and made all three free throws, kicking off a 18-1 Wolves run. They wouldn't be threatened again.

Wade Douglas had 27 points to lead Corban, and Sisler finished with 17.

Western Oregon will hit the road next week for a tournament on Friday and Saturday at the University of North Dakota.
